The captain of the Mumbai Indians got a surprise from his team when he found that they had organized a surprise birthday party at the team hotel.

Speaking to reporters, the always humble Sachin said, "It is the good wishes and blessings that count a lot. My family is joining me tomorrow, so am really looking forward to it."

The little master also said that he was still enjoying every moment of playing the game. "I would like to achieve the enjoyment factor. It is important to enjoy the game and only then will you come out with your best and that's what I want to do," he added.

Good to play IPL before World Cup: Flintoff

With England due to host the Twenty20 World Cup this June, all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is keen to utilise the IPL to brush up his skills in the shortest version of the game.

The much anticipated Ashes series will come up just after the World Cup and several Australian stars such as skipper Ricky Ponting and speedster Brett Lee have decided to skip the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) in order to keep themselves fresh. But Flintoff has been forced to sit out a considerable part of the season due to injury and is keen to play in the Twenty20 extravagenza.

''I missed a lot of cricket through injury. I missed four weeks this winter, so the more cricket I can play now, the better for me,'' Flintoff was quoted as saying by the 'Guardian' today.

The 31-year-old asserted that the IPL will be useful not only for him but also other England cricketers as they prepare for the World Cup at home.

''Also I think that people are losing sight of the importance of the (Twenty20) World Cup in England. The importance not just for myself, but people like Dimi Mascarenhas, KP (Kevin Pietersen) and Ravi Bopara developing the skills in this form of the game because it's just getting bigger and better,'' he added.

Flintoff is the most expensive player in the second edition of the IPL alongwith compatriot Kevin Pietersen at 1.55 million dollars.

He will play for last year's runners-up Chennai Super Kings, led by Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
